Wow, I didn't know there are real crystal caves! This one is in Naica, Mexico. Very beautiful, but dangerous as it is very hot! Your body is dying when you go inside there... More info here

Tron

The picture above is an Ice hotel room inspired by Tron.

Tron is interesting in a way where the whole lights and contrast become the main look.

Ded Moroz & Snegurochka - Our Russian Christmas. Дед Мороз и Снегурочка

Life after death - Snegurochka after melting in Spring, lives again with Father Frost, giving gifts to children. The cartoon is about that Christmas kind of cheer, the Russian way.

Interesting phenomenon

Marine snow - apparently underwater there is an effect that looks like snow.

The video gave me some ideas of other imagery to add into the snow maiden story.

Stained glass
(Below is stained glass art noveu by Jacques Gruber)

Suncatchers, just like stained glass

Glass etching products

1. Sandblasting (like what I did last semester)
Pro: Very permenant
Cons: Fiddly and difficult on curved surface, not very good with thin lines

2. Frosting film
Can be removed, but lasts for a few years. Meant for doors, big surfaces

3. Glass frosting spray
Can be easily washed off in hot water. Meant for small surfaces.

Execution ideas

Maybe etching on glass

Paper cut outs

Let it melt in front of different buildings/scenery (like Mc D. Snow maiden in the modern world)

The picture above is from a sports website, where they have a real life ballerina inside a snow globe. So you can see from all sides! So beautiful. Check it out here: http://www.sportogo.com/snowglobe.aspx

Someone made Snow White with ice cream, that's interesting.

Screenprinting - layer on layer, transparency

Maybe lace, softness of a silk dress, lingerie (haha).

Oops the last one seems to be a bit too far (haha).

Snegurochka

I like the fairy tale behind Snegurochka. The problem is that it is so famous, just like the picture above, it's almost like a national identity.

Love on snow. Ice heart. Deconstructing the snow maiden.
